Meet Our Sales & Merchandising Intern: Christine Wallace
We loved our Sales & Merchandising Intern Christine Wallace the moment we saw her! Super chic and always trendy, this Johnson & Wales senior is spot on today’s fashion and is already looking to tomorrow’s catchy pieces. She’s got a great eye for design—whether glamming up the Preview Sale cards for Style Week or constructing functional pedestals for our models, Christine has got it covered. Read on to hear what she’s got to say about Barbies, the Greek Isles, and Anna Wintor.
What’s your favorite style of Sexy Period underwear?
Blossoming Beauty!
What motivated you to go into fashion merchandising?
I love the hustle and bustle of the fashion industry. It is an ever changing world that is constantly reinventing itself. That energy is infectious and inspirational to me. I always love a new challenge and I know I will never become stagnant in this industry. There are always new trends, new styles, and new consumers to market them too. Of course there is also my love for fashion which I’ve had from a very young age (my Barbies had more wardrobe changes than Lady Gaga).
What’s the last book you read?
“Anatomy of a Trend” by Henrik Vejlgaard.
Got any hobbies?
I love any DIY projects, whether it making something for my apartment, clothing, accessories, or
revamping old items to make them new again.
Let’s say you just won a vacation for free (lucky you!). Where would you go?
The Greek Isles. After watching Mamma Mia! and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants it’s definitely
a place I would like to experience for myself.
If you had to trade lives with someone for a year, who would you pick?
Anna Wintor, who wouldn’t want to be the editor-in-chief of Vogue?
How would you describe your style?
A mash-up of modern basics and cutting-edge fashion that is always complimented with accessories, especially scarves.
What’s your must-have comfort during that time of the month?
Chocolate of course!
Friday Fashion Find 4/29: Regal Lace
We’re pulling a little inspiration from royalty this Friday. We love this regal lace top that can be dressed up for work or down for a femme daytime look. Pair it with a pencil skirt or jeans, and you’re sure to be looking like a princess in this Equipment ‘Brett’ Lace Shirt from Nordstrom.

Get a beautiful pinky peach on those lips with NARS lipstick in Niagara. Snag yours at Sephora.com, dab a little gloss on top, and you'll be ready to glow all day and night.

Friday Fashion Find 3/11: Birchbox
Shopping with Birchbox is like shopping with your best friend who also just happens to be a makeup, haircare, and skincare specialist. With products and how-tos in the same place, what more could you ask for? Try out different beauty products when they send your lovely gift box filled with 4-5 samples each month. When you’re sure you love that luscious lipstick or that wonderful body butter, just go online and purchase it! And even better? You get rewards for everything you buy. Nice.

Meet Our Watercolor Artist: Pamela Baron
If your favorite style of Sexy Period panties is Blossoming Beauty, you’ve got one main woman to thank: Pamela Baron. She’s the RISD grad behind those wonderful watercolor flowers that adorn the Blossoming Beauty waistband. Not only is she a talented artist, but she’s also got a rocking sense of humor. Check out more of Pamela's work at her site, and read on to hear what she has to say about tape art, cross-country dads, and learning from each other.

Hands down, Comanzo & Co.’s Whole Wheat Pumpkin Biscotti. Locally made in Smithfield, RI and amazingly delicious! Seriously, these things make me have a better day.
What motivated you to become an artist?
I always thought I wanted to be a comic book artist until the late Al DeCredico taught me about abstract art. It was from there that I really began pushing the limits of what I could do and exploring myself as an artist.
What’s the last book you read?
“A Supposedly Funny Thing I’ll Never Do Again” by David Foster Wallace. So. Funny.
When you’re not busy being a fabulous artist, what do you like to do with your time?
I love doing Tape Art at the Providence Community Acupuncture Clinic, running outside when the weather is nice and baking for my friends and family.
Got any hobbies?
Glass blowing. I learned how in high school and worked throughout college at a local hot shop. It’s a strangely addictive hobby.
Tell us something embarrassing about yourself!
Well, when I was a rebellious teen, I attempted to sneak off with a boy. My plot failed miserably since my Dad caught me and he chased me around the neighborhood for hours. We both laugh about it now, but I sure put his high school cross-country days to test!
If you had to trade lives with someone for a year, who would you pick?
A competitive athlete. Dancers, marathon runners, gymnasts -- I have so much respect for the level of commitment those people have.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
People come together to teach each other lessons. It’s up to you to have the clarity to find out what those things are and learn.
What’s your favorite style of Sexy Period underwear?
I love the Blossoming Beauty in cheeky!

Style Week Providence!
Style Week Providence was absolutely amazing. Not just because of the other fabulous accessory designers (check out this week’s Friday Fashion Find!), the extravagant runway shows, or the eye-catching showcase our Sexy Period models put on (though hey, none of those hurt)…but mostly because of the wonderful enthusiasm and excitement we got from all of you!!! The Sexy Period table was bubbling with women delightedly eyeing, holding, and learning about Sexy Period panties, chatting to each other and to us about how they were going to purchase a pair for themselves, their sisters, daughters, and friends! And we’re right there with them in our excitement. Here are some Style Week pictures to tide you (and us) over until our limited 500 pair Preview Sale Release only three very short days away!!
Women were ecstatic to learn how soft Sexy Period panties are!

Meet Our Stylist: Jennie Kay Murphy
When we saw Jennie Kay do Laura’s styling for our first Sexy Period photoshoot, we had to do just about everything to restrain ourselves from holding her hostage for the sole purpose of making us look good every morning. Not only did she put effortless-looking curls into Laura’s hair but she also crafted killer makeup. Jennie owns her own salon in Rhode Island and has worked on everything from 27 Dresses to Jersey Boys to Snoop Dogg. With a total genuine personality to boot, we’d say Jennie’s the ultimate stylist in our book. Maybe if we buy her pistachios she’ll do our makeup every morning??
What’s your favorite thing about being involved with Sexy Period?
I really loved being involved with young motivated people. I know Sexy Period won’t be able to keep these panties on the shelf and I was really excited to be there for the 1st photoshoot.
What motivated you to become a stylist?
Believe it or not the first time I saw Mrs. Doubtfire and The Mask I said I wanted to do hair and makeup for films.
If you had to trade lives with someone for a year, who would you pick?
Tim Burton…I would like to know what goes on in his head.
What’s the snack food you’re addicted to?
Well I’m pregnant right now so it really depends on the day …….today maybe pistachios!
Got any hobbies?
I like crafts, yoga, and sitting in Barnes and Noble reading magazines.
What’s playing on repeat on your iPod right now?
Katy Perry and Sugarland.
What’s your favorite style of Sexy Period underwear?
Blossoming beauty!
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Don’t over analyze everything, and be patient.
Be sure to check out Jennie’s site at www.jenniekaybeauty.com!
We're getting ready...
The Sexy Period team is brimming with excitement about our Style Week presentations coming up! Of course we’ve been hard at work to make sure that our accessory display is just as glamorous as you are (we know, we’re shooting for the stars). Just a few things you’ve got to look forward to: pretty pink model pedestals, picture-adorned Preview Sale cards, and our smiling faces (what more could you want?)!
Also, a BIG thank you goes to Johnson & Wales student Christine for all of her help on everything from printing to designing Preview Sale cards (pick them up at our table this week!) to building boxes.
Remember! Come to Style Week Providence at the Biltmore 3:30-6:30 Wednesday-Friday to stop by our Accessory Showcase, and be sure to be there Friday at 5 for our special live presentation!!
Cue Style Week sneak peek…
The hammers and hot glue guns came out as the Sexy Period team tapped into their inner architects!

The boxes before their morning coffee...not looking too good!

The boxes are glammed up and ready to go!

Julie made bandeau tops for our models...adorned with over-the-top bows in back!

Thanks to Project Runway and Style Week designer Jonathon Joseph Peters for giving Julie tips on how to sew darts!

Meet Our Model: Laura Frazier
Laura Frazier is the gorgeous model of Sexy Period’s first fashion photos! As a proud mom of a little boy and a passionate lover of pumpkin pie, Laura’s definitely more than just a pretty face. Her bubbly, can-do personality wowed us from the start (she even braved a skyscraper balcony in the middle of winter to try and get some Sexy Period fashion shots)! Read on to hear what Laura’s got to say about tickling, the Spice Girls, and growing up as the snarly brace-faced redhead.
What’s your must-have comfort during that time of the month?
A romantic comedy, my fiancé cuddling on the couch, and a BIG bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice cream keeps me happy.
What motivated you to become a model?
Growing up I was the snarly red head with the face full of freckles and a mouth full of braces, but everything about the fashion industry and modeling made me stand in awe. Needless to say, I never figured I’d be where I am today. When I was in high school, I dated a guy that was absolutely no good for me. Over time the relationship fell to pieces but I gave birth to an amazing little boy. I promised myself I am going to show my son, no matter what anyone says, no matter who you are, you can live the life you want to live. All it takes is an outgoing personality, the motivation to reach for the stars, and the determination to not let anything stand in your way. Four years later here I am!
If someone wants to make you laugh, they’ve just got to…
Tickle me! Sometimes when designers are doing fittings I have to hold in laughs from them touching me. I’ve even had some friends take pictures of me with the oddest looks on my face trying to hold it in.
What’s your favorite thing about being involved with Sexy Period?
Not only are the underwear super cute and comfy, but the people that are behind the scenes creating this one-of-a-kind underwear are absolutely amazing.
What’s playing on repeat on your iPod right now?
Fly Like a G6. I go crazy dancing in the car when the song comes on. People driving by must think I am absolutely insane.
If you had to trade lives with someone for a year, who would you pick?
Victoria Beckham! Just because David Beckham is so yummy and she is such a strong, beautiful woman. Come on now… what woman doesn’t have a little Spice Girl in them. GIRL POWER!
What’s the snack food you’re addicted to?
Pumpkin Pie with a load of whipped cream on top would have to be at the top of the list. Between me and my fiancé we’ll finish a pie in one sitting. Yes… he gives me the last piece. :)
What’s your favorite style of Sexy Period underwear?
Friday Night Fabulous. Why you ask? Doesn’t the name explain it all! ;)
*Laura's photo is by Trisha Kelley Photography

Friday Fashion Find 1/14: Betsey Johnson Earrings
We love classic chic with a twist. That’s why this week our Friday Fashion pick is Betsey Johnson’s Leo Drop Flower Tear earrings at betseyjohnson.com. (Ironic that we pick “Leo” earrings considering the current zodiac scandal?…Maybe this Friday Fashion Find is a *sign*!) The delicate flower studs are pretty standard, but Betsey pumps up the volume by adding her signature bling and animal print. Pair with your LBD and you’ll be all set. Thank you, Betsey. We know how we’re accessorizing tonight.

Meet Our Photographer: Daniel Gagnon
Daniel Gagnon is the man behind the lens for Sexy Period’s first ever fashion photos! Between rocking the runway as a fresh photographer and giving back through his day job, we don’t know how he finds the time to be as cool as he is. Check out more of Daniel’s stunning work at www.danielgagnonphoto.com and read on to hear what he’s got to say about Mean Girls, moisturizing, and Sexy Period.
What’s the snack food you’re addicted to?
Is McDonalds a snack!? Because I’m definitely addicted to that!!! In fact, I’m addicted to ALL fast food, WHICH I have coincidentally given up as my New Year’s resolution – 13 days and counting!
If someone wants to make you laugh, they’ve just got to…
Quote one of my favorite movies like Baby Mama or Mean Girls.
When you’re not busy being a fabulous photographer, what do you like to do with your time?
I’m a high school art teacher by day and I wouldn’t give it up for the world.
When you’re going out on the town, what’s your go-to piece you just have to wear?
My black jacket from my trip to Tokyo, Japan. It’s a solid compliment-getter every time.
How would you describe your style?
Clean and sophisticated with an element of the unexpected.
Let’s say you just won a vacation (lucky you!). Where would you go?
I’d be boarding a plane to Europe on a backpacking excursion through France and Italy then hopping over to Greece.
What’s your favorite thing about being involved with Sexy Period?
The fact that I can say I helped this company in its infancy as it grows into a nationally recognized brand.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Moisturize. Every day.
Friday Fashion Find 1/07: (Faux) Furry Earmuffs
We’re in the heat of winter (pun intended), and the weather’s starting to get pretty chilly. Rosy cheeks can be cute, but bright red, frozen ears?? Nuh-uh. You need something to keep those ears toasty when running to work or picking up that stunning dress at Bergdorf’s or wherever you might be heading while braving this brutal time of year! Hats can be trendy but side effects include hat-hair, and we all know that’s a serious problem. The cute cure: (faux) furry earmuffs! Check out these pretty, bunny-friendly earmuffs we found at freepeople.com for only $19.95.

Friday Fashion Find 12/24: Lovely Lip Stain
This Christmas eve, we wanted to give you something that will go with everything. Laura Mercier lip stain in Mulberry will be your new favorite accessory this season. Deepen that luscious lip color while still looking natural by dabbing on a tad of this lovely lip stain. With plump berry lips, you might want to linger a little longer underneath the mistletoe. We have a feeling it’ll work out well.

Friday Fashion Find 12/3: Holiday Dresses
The Holidays are here and we’re just as ready to start ripping open presents and decorating our house (ahem…apartment) as you are! This time of year there’s sure to be lots of holiday gatherings which is great for girls like us who like to get dressed up sometimes. Don’t hesitate to show your festive side this season. We’re not suggesting you wear those horrible Holiday sweaters (though admittedly they are super comfy). Fancy it up by donning a soft-colored dress adorned with some lovely sparkle. Chiffon meets sequin in this favorite we found at Bloomingdales.com.

Friday Fashion Find 11/26: Velour leggings
We get it. It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and that “food baby” is probably still sitting pretty in your stomach thanks to grandma’s stuffing and that extra (and oh-so-delicious) helping of pumpkin pie. So give yourself a little wiggle room while keeping it chic by rocking velour leggings like these ones from Kay Unger. Hey, these leggings are so fabulous, we’re guiltlessly digging into Thanksgiving leftovers already!

And you thought the holidays couldn’t get any better!
This holiday season is bringing lots of gifts, and one of them is pre-orders for Sexy Period!! You’ve had your turkey so now get excited—sneak peaks of our fashion photos are right around the corner because tomorrow is the first ever Sexy Period photo shoot! We’re super siked to be working with our talented photographer, Daniel Gagnon (he’s based in Providence too!) and our lovely model Laura is ready to rock. (Check out Daniel’s eye-catching work at www.danielgagnonphoto.com!)
We can’t wait to bring you the sight of Sexy Period panties on our website super soon! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more updates and behind-the scenes shots.
Friday Fashion Find 11/19: Chunky Jewelry
We know you love to make a statement, so why not let your accessories do it for you this time? Chunky jewelry is the glam way to dress up a classic outfit this season. Pair your everyday pieces with oversized rings or attention-grabbing bracelets like this gem we found at piperlime.com!

Friday Fashion Find 11/5: Slouchy Sweaters
We know, we know, the weather’s getting a little chilly out there (at least for those of us stuck in New England)! Stay cute and cozy as the temperature starts to drop by snuggling up in a slouchy sweater like this one by LA Made that we found at Piperlime.com.

Friday Fashion Find 10/29: Berk’s Shoes
What can we say, Berk’s clothing and shoe shop on Thayer Street (Providence) has stolen our heart, but that’s old news. We love the unique brands they supply and the chic feminine clothing that stocks their racks and fills their shelves. And oh, the shoes—from Converse All Stars to Steve Madden pumps to Frye boots, they’ve got it. What more could a girl want? Julie even rocked a pretty blue floral dress from Berk’s in our stop motion film that’ll be coming to our homepage very soon. Keep an eye out for the stop motion and check out Berk’s on Thayer St. in Providence or in Harvard Square to keep you busy in the meantime!!
PS–Berk’s has guys’ shoes too!

Friday Fashion Find 10/15: Lace Mini
Craving instant prettiness? Then throw on a lace miniskirt like the Severn lace mini we found at jcrew.com. We love the delicate floral pattern that makes this lace not too over-the-top, not too understated, but oh just right. Don the slate shade for an all-year-round gorgeous femme look or go bold with summit green and be certain to stand out amongst those fiery autumn leaves.

Friday Fashion Find 10/8: Jujuknits
Clearly the vintage vibe is in nowadays. But we don’t really want to see you walking around in old-school Mom jeans. To add a touch of the vintage-y vibe but still give off that glamour-girl glow, try out Jujuknits scarves, like this one we found in a pretty floral pattern. The scarves are already perfectly twisted into that beautiful cowl-neck drape so you won’t even have to do any work. Ahh, we wish looking beautiful were always that easy!

Friday Fashion Find 9/24: Heeled Lace-up Boots
We’re not talking about thigh highs here, so don’t get nervous. Try out some lace-up booties in a calm canvas color like the Bismuth Seychelles we found at piperlime.com for $120. They have a little retro vibe with a classy, new world kick.

Friday Fashion Find 9/17: Friendship Bracelets
Remember the thread friendship bracelets you used to make for your fave girlfriend at camp? Well don’t wear those. Upgrade your look with matching jewelry! Celebs have gotten into the new trend as well. Pick up a matching pair at your favorite jewelry store or get creative for more sentimental meaning, like this customizable bracelet by ImBlessed that we found on etsy.com!

An award? For us? How Unexpected!
People are starting to take notice. And hey, can you blame ‘em? This week, Sexy Period by Eulie is being highlighted in Mass High Tech’s companies to watch. Go online now and vote for your favorite start-ups (obviously we hope we’re one of them) at http://www.masshightech.com/startup-watch/! Voting goes ‘til Tuesday morning, but why wait?? Help us spread the word about our fabulous Sexy Period panties!!
Friday Fashion Find 9/3: Cutesie Headbands
Even your hair likes to get dressed up sometimes. So why not don those gorgeous locks with a little hair jewelry—some cute headbands or accessories? We’re obsessed with the ones at www.shopbando.com.

Friday Fashion Find 8/27: Jeggings
Okay, we were a little weirded out by them at first. Like jeggings? It just sounds weird. But try on a pair. No seriously. If you haven’t picked up a pair of jeggings already, we promise they’ll be in your closet by the end of the fall. Who could resist jeans that stretch forever and let you curl up in that little pretzel snuggle without the uncomfortable tugging and bunching of denim? Not us, that’s for sure. The Cadre Noir Legging from Anthropologie caught our eye this week.

Friday Fashion Find 8/20: Double v-neck shirts
Sometimes, less is more. Show off those tanned shoulders with a flattering v-front and v-back shirt like the one we’ve found at urbanoutfitters.com for just $16. Daring, yet classy. Check and check.

Friday Fashion Find 8/13: Diana by Lauren Merkin
Who said Friday the 13th was unlucky? With Diana, there’s no way that you’ll be caught off guard on this Friday. We love Lauren Merkin’s clutch slash purse slash crossbody shoulderbag in this versatile accessory that comes in every shade of the handbag rainbow.
Though at $195 it may be a tad pricy for our entrepreneur budgets, we can think of tons of ways to rationalize this mini splurge. A) You can use this bag anywhere, anytime. B) Lauren Merkin’s a Brown grad (like us)! C) C’mon…it’s a bag…and it’s so darn cute.

Friday Fashion Find 8/6: Beachy Blush
You know that summery glow that makes you want to skip work and hit the beach as soon as you look in the mirror? That reminds you of ice cold lemonade and the smell of sunscreen?
Well we think that ooh-she’s-got-something-special summery shine should NEVER disappear just ’cause the leaves start changing.
When that summer shimmer starts to fade, try a warm, soft blush to get a natural glow without looking inappropriately orange for the season. After trying it out one NYC afternoon at Sephora, we’re obsessed with Laura Mercier’s Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine ($24).
Sweep it on to highlight those gorgeous cheekbones and people will be dying to know just why you’re glowing…all year long!

Urban Dictionary? More like Urban Fictionary.
So the other day Julie and I were doing a little video chatting, just getting things in order and such. We’ve been doing some research on Search Engine Optimization…basically just how to get Sexy Period up in the Google results so that you don’t have to click through the 17th “o” to see our page. Anyways, as we were vid chatting I typed into Google “period panties” just to see what would pop up. And wouldn’t you know it, urban dictionary had the nerve to be on the top of the first page of results.
Do you know what it said? Why don’t you take a guess?? Alright, I’ll tell you. Quote, “Panties that girls wear, that are not cute, during their period, or menstral, so they don’t ruin the pretty ones.” So we thought this was pretty funny. First of all, because Sexy Period is like the uber-arch-nemesis of this definition. Actually, first of all should probably be because whoever wrote this spelled “menstrual” wrong. So I think it’s pretty clear they haven’t done their research. But wait ‘til you hear the synonyms: “granny panties,” “draws,” “leakage proof,” “nasty draws,” and, my personal favorite, “no sex draws.”
Well at least they got the leakage proof right. Oh, and what did I hear you ask? How do you use that in a sentence? Let me tell you what Urban Dictionary says: “I have a separate drawer for my period panties.”
Sigh. Urban dictionary, you’re gonna need some revisions very, very soon…
God should have created Sexy Period when he created women - Kim C.
